Many people use it as a gateway to the region and Daintree National Park and the Queensland Outback.
BRISBANE
The third largest city in Australia, Brisbane is the capital of the Sunshine State, and as such, it is blessed with a delightful climate throughout the year. Consequently, there are an endless number of outdoor activities to get your blood pumping. Ranging from kayaking and climbing to hiking and biking, there’s no reason to be a couch potato in Brisbane.
PERTH
The laidback, youthful capital of Western Australia is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking to sit back and relax for a bit. With lovely beaches, amazing weather, and a cosmopolitan feel to it, Perth is a city to savor and enjoy. It has a wealth of bars, restaurants and cultural sites, as well as loads of outdoor activities.
GOLD COAST
A popular destination among tourists and locals alike, Gold Coast’s primary drawcard is the spectacular combination of sun, sea and surf. Apartment blocks tower above the city’s almost endless array of beaches, with Surfers Paradise being the most popular of them all. A beautiful place to visit, sunshine is almost guaranteed here.

BONDI BEACH
Located just minutes away from Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD), Bondi Beach is a mile-long sweep of golden sand lined with red-tile-roofed homes, apartments and green spaces. A promenade adjacent to the sand runs the length of the crescent-shaped beach. Popular Bondi Beach attracts swimmers, surfers, sunbathers and body builders.
SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE
One of Australia’s famous landmarks, the Sydney Opera House is one of the world’s most prestigious performing arts centers. You can enjoy a performance here, dine at one of the restaurants, or take a tour of the building, which encompasses theaters, studios, a concert hall, exhibition rooms, and a cinema.
QUEEN VICTORIA BUILDING
The Queen Victoria Building, QVB, is a five-story shopping center that fills an entire city block and houses nearly 200 retailers. Built by architect George McRae in 1898, the building was designed as a marketplace and concert hall. The QVB features a large glass dome sheathed in copper, ornamental cast-iron railings and numerous stained glass windows.
ULURU NATIONAL PARK
One of the world’s largest monoliths, Ayers Rock is also one of the top tourist attractions in Australia. Located within the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park of the Northern Territory, this large sandstone formation stands more than 340 meters (1,100 feet) high. One of the rock’s peculiarities is that it changes colors dramatically at sunset from terra cotta to blue, violet and red.
GREAT BARRIER REEF
One of the seven wonders of the natural world, the world’s largest barrier reef system is the Great Barrier Reef. It occupies a mammoth area including more than 3000 coral reefs and hundreds of scenic Islands.
