CANADA

Canada is a very unique country and is the second largest country in size in the world. Yet it is very sparsely populated.

There is a whole lot of destinations that  you can visit in this second largest country in the world. Canada will mesmerize you with its vibrant landscapes, raw nature, and soul-filling culture. No wonder, people often flock to Canada for a dose of adventure and exuberance. Be it the lakes, the gardens, or the cities as a whole, Canada has got it all that would make your holiday worthwhile!

WHERE TO GO

The cities of Canada range from large, cosmopolitan cities like Toronto in Ontario to small outposts such as Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon Territory. Many of the best cities to visit in Canada are gateways to magnificent wilderness areas and exciting recreational facilities, including some of the best ski resorts in the world.

TORONTO

If you enjoy visiting exciting and vibrant cities, you’ll love Toronto, which is also Canada’s largest city and the capital of Ontario. Toronto is likely Canada’s best-known city due to the hubbub around the Toronto International Film Festival, the sky-high CN Tower, and major sports franchises like the Blue Jays, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Raptors.

VANCOUVER

Vancouver is where the ocean meets the mountains. Aside from spectacular natural beauty, this British Columbia coastal metropolis has a relaxed charm that makes it one of the most popular Canadian cities to visit. Vancouver is also a seaport blessed with eight public beaches on the ocean and one on a lake.

MONTREAL

Montreal, which is located in Quebec, is a Canadian city that has blended the old with the new and the French with the English. The biggest draw in Montreal is Old Town, a central neighborhood close to the water that has preserved much of its original 17th-century architecture and cobblestone streets and reflects the city’s French influence.

NIAGARA FALLS

Niagara Falls, Ontario, on the Canadian side has been historically known as a honeymoon destination. Although the main draw to Niagara Falls, is the waterfalls, the surrounding area also has much to offer. The Niagara wine region, the Shaw Festival, and Niagara-on-the-Lake in the surrounding region all offer a more local, authentic experience.

VICTORIA

Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia, is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island and is a charming harbor city that’s a gateway to all the wonderful towns, inlets, coves, and Pacific Ocean scenery of Vancouver Island. It is also a city that still boasts a wild side, elephant seals and whales can be found in the waters surrounding the city.

HALIFAX

Nova Scotia’s capital city has the amenities of a big city but the charm of a smaller town. The Maritime region is famous for the hospitality of the people, with Halifax rumored to have more bars per capita than any other Canadian city. Much of the city’s allure can be attributed to an oceanside location, rugged shorelines, sandy beaches, nearby fishing villages, and historic architecture.

WHAT TO DO

Canada is a country that has much to offer visitors, from island sights to scenic mountain waterfalls. Stretching from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts, this former French and British colony has a rich heritage from the North Coast Indians of British Columbia to the French explorers of Quebec.

EATON CENTER

The huge Eaton Center mall is located at the north end of the Central Business District. With its own subway station, this ultra-modern shopping complex extends over several blocks. Strangers can quite easily lose their way in the bewildering maze of department stores, specialty shops, boutiques, restaurants, and cafeterias, which crowd the different levels above and below ground.

ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM

The Royal Ontario Museum, known as the ROM, is one of Canada’s premier museums, with an international reputation for excellence. It houses an outstanding collection, which covers natural history, art, and culture from a great variety of periods from all over the world. It is also well-known for featuring exhibitions from across the globe.

INNER HARBOUR

There’s the water on one side and stately government buildings on the other since Victoria is the capital of British Columbia. The city hosts a classic boat festival on Labour Day in September. Visitors can also navigate the harbor on kayaks or tour boats. Take time out to have a traditional British tea at the Empress Hotel, a Victoria landmark since the early 1900s.

CRAIGDARROCH CASTLE

Victoria’s fairy-tale mansion, Craigdarroch Castle, is considered a gem of Victorian architecture and is a National Historic Site. The house is situated in a particularly affluent area of Victoria. Elegant Rockland centers on Rockland Avenue, which is lined with grand heritage homes including Government House.
