NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand is another worldly, photogenic and friendly country offering visitors unbeatable changes for adventure and exploration.

With stunning scenery greeting you almost everywhere you look, New Zealand’s coastal cities are set amidst some astounding natural sights and really are amazing to behold. Few destinations boast so many staggering natural wonders packed into such a small area. Snow-capped peaks, sparkling coves, coastal glaciers, rain forests, fjords, and fish-filled rivers are some of the treasures travelers can explore.

WHERE TO GO

The best cities in New Zealand have a plethora of incredible outdoor activities for you to take part in, with mountains, volcanoes surrounding them and lakes, rivers and islands bordering the cities. Away from the adrenaline-inducing zip-lines and river-rafting, some fantastic festivals and cultural events take place in New Zealand and there are some great museums and galleries to explore.

AUCKLAND

One of the best places to live in the world in terms of quality of life, Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand. CHRISTCHURCH

Known as the ‘Garden City’, Christchurch is a pleasant, leafy place. There are lots of parks, museums and galleries for you to visit. From here you can go ballooning, river-rafting or trekking in the nearby countryside.

QUEENSTOWN

In addition to its stunning location on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, the spectacular mountains surrounding Queenstown make for one of the most beautiful scenes in the whole country. While it is certainly blessed in terms of scenic settings, the city also has a fantastic arts scene for visitors to enjoy, as well as some delicious dining, delightful bars and excellent vineyards.

ROTORUA

Lying on the shores of the lake after which it is named, Rotorua is renowned for its fabulous hot springs and geysers that are absolutely everywhere. Situated at the heart of the Taupo Volcanic Zone, the city is the North Island’s most popular tourist destination – steam and spray constantly cloud its streets and the scent of sulfur hangs heavy in the air.

DUNEDIN

Known as the ‘Edinburgh of the South’, Dunedin’s Scottish heritage is immediately apparent; a Victorian railway greets you, alongside numerous statues and monuments to famous Scots. With the oldest university in New Zealand, Dunedin is a youthful place with an energetic feel, and there are lots of great bars and a pumping nightlife scene.

WHAT TO DO

New Zealand is a hot spot for adrenaline-fueled sports. White water rafting, luging, jet boating, skydiving, hiking, and mountain biking round out the list of outdoor adventures, and the country is home to one of the highest bungee jumps in the world. Cascading waterfalls, deep fjords, hot water spring, steaming geysers, untamed wilds, clear beaches and dazzling glaciers, there are so many wonderful places to visit.

WAI-O-TAPU

More geothermal oddities await at Wai-O-Tapu, home to the Lady Knox geyser, which erupts at 10.15am every morning with water shooting up to 20 meters in the air. This colorful area brims with volcanic activity. A series of walkways throughout the Wai-O-Tapu park allows you to traverse the area for good views of all the volcanic sights.

SKY TOWER

Dominating the Auckland skyline, the Sky Tower stretches towards the heavens and reaches a height of 328 meters. Its upper levels are accessible to the public. Up amongst the clouds, you’ll find two restaurants and a café, as well as three observation levels, where you can enjoy some of the most spectacular views imaginable.

SEA LIFE AQUARIUM

Located on the scenic Tamaki Drive that weaves its way along the city’s waterfront, the center has thousands of different fish and marine species for you to check out. Its long underwater tunnel is just one of its main highlights. It is home to everything from sharks, stingrays, and penguins to shoals of brightly-colored fish and entire coral reef systems.

SKYLINE QUEENSTOWN

The countryside surrounding Queenstown is full of magnificent mountain views. The Skyline Queenstown gondola, right in town, offers incredible vistas over the city. The cable car is known for being the steepest in the Southern Hemisphere, and at the top, a number of lookout platforms and an excellent restaurant offer more of those views to soak up.

MURIWAI BEACH

Located just 40 minutes away from the Auckland city, the beach offers you with great scenic views. The killer sunsets, the massive sand dunes, and amazing surf, all of these together contributes to the beauty of the place. It can be said that this is one of the best holiday spots in the whole of New Zealand.
